Dougos Trigono Mavrotragano 2012

Dougos Trigono Mavrotragano 2012

(Single vineyard Kontariotissa in Pieria, 350 m, matured for 18 m in French and American oak). Black olives, meat, spice and mint on the nose. Layered with still some vanilla highlighted around a core of dense and ripe black fruit. Punchy on the palate, still kind of woody especially on the finish, but it has everything. Concentration, power and freshness from the bright acidity along an excellent balance of fruit with the 14% abv. This is superb already although with less oak it would have been epic. (YK)
