Oikonomou Assyrtiko 2012

A very different interpretation of Assyrtiko compared to the mineral and often backward in its youth style of Santorini from the maestro Yiannis Economou this starts with a golden colour. Nose opens up with really ripe fruit, roasted hazelnuts and toasty notes with noble scents of oxidation. Palate is glorious, concentrated and creamy but with a tannic grip and wonderful focus and energy. A top one by all standards.
