(Old, ungrafted vines of 35 years of age in Messinia, Peloponnese, matured in 80% French and 20% American oak, 15.5% abv) Following the very successful 2017 vintage which I presented here, 2018 continues on the same beat with somehow less oak influence. It is dense and solid with layers of spices, black fruit, and luxurious oak that are well integrated. A lovely wine not for the faint-hearted with a long peppery finish.
